Olven
We’ve been traveling for three days, and I’ve yet to see any sign of my father’s army.
It’s possible that this is the outcome he wanted—me leaving Khidrax and him being allowed to remain as king for as long he so desires it.
If so, I don’t mind.
I’ve found quite a bit of happiness here, with Autumn by my side and Samantha mostly existing in the shadows. I can tell that she doesn’t trust me, and at the first sign of anything suspicious, she’ll probably try to kill me in my sleep.
The baby seems to be doing fine, as well. Autumn isn’t complaining of nausea, and she’s been able to hold down her food and drink. The only issue she seems to have is the occasional pain in her stomach, but I told her that her symptoms are natural for a woman pregnant with a Khidrax child.
Once again, Autumn has fallen asleep beside me in the copilot’s chair. And once again, I take her to a bed near the back of the ship.
She once asked why there was such a bed, and I told her that the expectation for Khidrax men at the age I flew this ship was that they may take on several mates over time.
And while I had my share of experiences, I never met anyone that I was willing to call my own.
Not until my Autumn.
I place her on top of the sheets and she stirs, her face soon looking up at mine.
“Come to bed,” she whispers.
“I cannot,” I reply. “Someone has to keep their eyes on the control panel, just in case.”
“If something goes wrong, won’t an alarm sound or something?” Autumn continues. “Can’t Samantha handle it right now?”
“Perhaps.” I take a seat beside Autumn on the bed. “But it is not Samantha’s place to protect you. It is mine.”
“Olven. Please,” Autumn whimpers, reaching a hand down past my abdomen. “Just stay for a little while. Please?”
“Is this an invitation to mate?” I ask, as I place my own hand over Autumn’s. “You know that the timing could not be worse.”
“But it might be all the time that we have left,” Autumn murmurs. “And I miss feeling close to you.”
Autumn moves her hand away from my abdomen, instead placing it on the side of my face. She then leans toward me, pressing her lips into mine.
My heart jolts in time with hers.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever wanted her more.
“What if your friend hears us, Autumn?” I idly play in Autumn’s hair as I ask.
“I don’t care. Do you care?” Autumn smiles. “Touch me, Olven. Anywhere. Everywhere. Please.”
“Hmm. I miss how you taste,” I admit.
“Then taste me, Olven.” Autumn moves away from me as she leans back on the bed. She soon spreads her legs for me, seemingly opening them as wide as they’ll go.
And I no longer care if Samantha hears us.
I want to make my Autumn scream for me.
I place my head between her legs, with my mouth pressed up against her clitoris. Autumn had taken one afternoon, long ago, to teach me the common names for her anatomy.
